Our Ambassadors

Our ambassadors are a community of passionate outdoor enthusiasts.

All of our ambassadors enjoy being outdoors and they take part in a wide range of activities, from hiking, running, cycling and climbing, using HARVEY maps across varied terrain and environments. As well as taking part in a range outdoor activities they showcase how our maps are used in real-world settings to help inspire others to explore the outdoors with confidence.

BeeBee 2
Bee+

Bee is from Shetland originally but she now lives near Stirling in Central Scotland. Bee absolutely loves being in the mountains, especially the Scottish ones, whether that’s running, hiking or enjoying winter days, she’s just happy to be outside. Her love of the mountains and outdoors doesn’t stop at Scotland though. Bee has climbed all the Furths in Ireland and Wales, and she loves long distance trails abroad, such as the GR20 in Corsica, the Alta Via 2 in the Dolomites and Everest Base Camp in Nepal.

Bee also got into ultra running a few years ago and she’s absolutely hooked. Her proudest achievements are compleating all 282 Munros in July 2024, climbing Island Peak at 6189m and becoming a qualified mountain leader.

Bee is currently working towards her winter mountain leader and her international mountain leader qualifications. Basically, she likes to find any excuse to be outside as much as possible!

CaraCara 2
Cara+

Cara is a mountain leader based in the Midlands. She loves an adventure, both in the UK & abroad, with the mountains being her favourite destination to run off to. On a normal weekend you'll usually find Cara hiking or pretending she can dance on top of a mountain as a summit celebration.

Recently, she’s completed all 188 of the Welsh mountains and so her eyes are now set on reaching the top of the 257 English mountains. Thru-hiking is another one of Cara’s favourite activities with her most recent thru-hikes consisting of Coast to Coast, the Laugavegur Trail and the Tour du Mont Blanc. What’s up next is still to be confirmed but ideas are already buzzing around!

“I love the Coast to Coast map! The concept of walking west to east across the country felt so daunting but seeing my day broken down by the trail line on my HARVEY map gave me mini land marks to aim for - even if it was something as aesthetically displeasing as the bridge going over the M6! Of course, the route has much more exciting places throughout which were so much more enticing but that visualisation of my next incline, decline and forestry section really gave me landmarks each day which made it feel manageable.”

HeatherHeather 2
Heather+

Heather is a mountaineer and long-distance hiker who has now clocked in thousands of miles on long distance trails alone, where she is always self-sufficient, living simply out of her tent.

Some of her favourite achievements include the Cape Wrath Trail, Tour Du Mont Blanc, Tahoe Rim Trail, West Highland Way, East Highland Way, Skye Trail, Wainwright’s Coast to Coast, South Downs Way, Great Glen Way, Alder Trail, Affric Kintail Way, Everest Base Camp, Cotswold Way, Cumbria Way and the Laugervegur Trail.

Heather is the founder and guide of Sacred Mountain Guiding where she offers guided mountain adventures, sharing her passion for the mountains and the outdoors and her belief that nature holds the key to healing, presence and belonging.

And what is Heather’s favourite map? "This would have to be the HARVEY Cape Wrath Trail North & South maps. The Cape Wrath Trail has my heart and was my most memorable trail to date, I hope to hike it again in the future!"

JenJen 2
Jen+

Based in the Scottish Highlands, Jen is a qualified mountain leader and a trainee member of Killin Mountain Rescue Team. She explores the Highlands on foot, bike and kayak, often for days at a time, with summit camps and bothy stays. Jen’s adventures are less about speed and more about self-reliance, curiosity, and enjoying the landscape.

She is the author of Running Through the Dark, a book that tells the story of taking on some of Britain’s toughest endurance events, including the 190 mile Northern Traverse race and the Spine Challenger. She hosts the podcast ‘Resilience Rising’ which explores what resilience means.

Her favourite HARVEY map is BMM Southern Highlands, which she uses to explore her local wild swim spots and Munros.

LaylaLayla 2
Layla+

Layla is a mountain leader living in Yorkshire. Her passion is running in the fells and giving her two boys a life in the outdoors free of screens.

RachelRachel 2
Rachel+

With 39 years of hill experience, Rachel discovered mountains whilst doing the Duke of Edinburgh award at 16. She has spent every spare moment since then exploring the fells of the Lake District and the mountains of Wales and Scotland. Her love of the hills also involves solo-walking long distance trails as well as wild camping in some of the most remote parts of the UK.

Rachel is based in the magical Lake District and loves anything outdoors. She particularly loves walking, but also she enjoys climbing (trad and ice), swimming, running and mountain biking.

I have many favourite maps, but the Cape Wrath Trail north and south top the lot. These maps were my bedtime reading each night before the next gruelling day. I was able to really visualise what was to come each day which helped me achieve my first unexpected and unplanned fastest known time.

Ross+

Ross is a big hillwalker - he compleated all 282 Munros in 2022 and has been to the top of over 500 hills and mountains in Scotland. He has a little dog called Dex, who is a west highland white terrier – Rex has done 67 Munros to date.

Ross and Dex live in Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands, an archipelago made up of around 70 islands just off the north coast of the Scottish mainland.
